Charleston 2013

follow url I’ve come full-circle with the Blathering. When I first went, in 2010, I was seven weeks pregnant with Paul. It was a good weekend, but early pregnancy is never the most comfortable time. The next year I got lucky and it was held in Austin, conveniently close enough to my sister-in-law that we could make a family vacation out of it. I was thrilled to be able to go, yet not have to leave my four-month-old for four days. Having a two-year-old and four-month-old (plus a man, aka my husband) as roommates isn’t exactly standard Blathering procedure, but I was excited to be there.

watch By 2012, in New Orleans, I was footloose and fancy free. No baby, no breast pump, no commitments. READY TO PARTY. I lived it up and came home to declare it the best weekend ever.

This year I got to start over again, with another nausea-filled Blathering thanks to yet another child taking up residence in my uterus. I really did have an amazing weekend (thanks in large part to the entire pharmacy of anti-nausea pills I dragged along), but I miss feeling normal, you know? Nevertheless, nothing can keep the Blathering from being awesome. And awesome it was:

Ladies who lunch. Sometimes five tables away from each other without even noticing.

I think I’m out for Seattle next year (alas, no relatives there and traveling with three kids sounds…not fun, regardless) but the Blathering 2015 is on notice. YOU JUST WAIT.

  1. That looks like so much fun! 🙂

  2. I’m so glad we got to spend more time together this year, and I’ll miss you next year!
