Advent: Day 10, 11 & 12

Day 10 – Go Christmas Caroling

We went caroling at a nursing home and the kids didn’t really know what to make of it. They can’t read song lists, of course, and were shy standing in front of all the people. The songs were simple – Joy to the World, We Wish You a Merry Christmas – but they couldn’t come up with the words under pressure. Margaret did shake her little bell in time to Jingle Bells, but she wouldn’t sing.

(They also wouldn’t smile.)

Day 11 – Make Cookies at Grandma’s house

Grandma has the patience for roll-out decorated cookies even if mommy doesn’t:)

Day 12 – Watch Christmas movies

At the last minute, I noticed (and rented) the Dreamworks Holiday Collection in a Redbox instead of using one of the movies we had. I was rather excited to see Merry Madagascar, myself, but it turned out the kids didn’t actually know who the characters were. I’ve apparently never shown them Madagascar, even though I own it, so…oops. They’ve also never seen the other three movies these Christmas spinoffs are based on, so it was kind of a confusing viewing. It still got a thumbs up from the kids, because TEE-VEE.

Comments

  1. We’ve watched that Christmas thing like 6 times already. It’s one of the better ones on Netflix.
